The Mantis-175 auxiliary power unit was developed to meet the increasing demand for over-the-road truckers to reduce fuel costs while maintaining creature comforts when they are idled, the company says. The Mantis-175 has an Isuzu, 3-cylinder, quiet-running engine that runs at 1,800 rpm, which preserves engine life and consumes little fuel. Its air conditioner and heater boast 32,000 BTUs and 35,000 BTUs respectively, and the Mantis has a 140-amp alternator The Mantis 175 Truck APU features the latest improvements in Auxiliary Power technology. Powered by an Isuzu 3 cylinder diesel engine, the Mantis 175 Truck APU system keeps drivers comfortable whether they are in the Mojave Desert or the Rocky Mountains with 35,000 BTU heating and 32,000 BTU cooling power ~ more than any Truck APU competitor. The Mantis 175 also features a rugged one-piece steel frame with scratch and dent resistant coating. Its lightweight, aluminum diamond plate cover encloses the unit including the engine and radiator with easy access service points. The Mantis 175 APU uses a solid state electronic controller.
